2020 National Laity Week

September 7, 2020

To: All Laiko Members: Arch/Diocesan Councils of the Laity & National Lay Organizations
Dear Brothers & Sisters:

The peace and love of the merciful Lord be with you!

The Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas will once again celebrate the National Laity Week (NLW 2020) on September 19 to 26, 2020. Despite the present situation, we believe all the more that we have to highlight the indispensable role of the laity in the life and mission of the Church.

This year’s theme is:

“Shema: Hear the Groaning of Mother Earth; Hear the Cry of the Poor;
Hear the Call and Promise for Unity and Solidarity”
“Shema: Dinggin ang Daing ng Inang Kalikasan; Dinggin ang Pagtangis
ng Maralita; Dinggin ang Tawag at Pangako ng Pagkakabuklod-buklod”

The Launching of the NLW 2020 will be held on September 19, 2020, 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon in the Diocese of Pasig, while the Closing Event will be on September 26, 2020, 8:00 A.M.-12:00 noon in the Archdiocese of Cebu. A Luzon Celebration will also be held on September 20, 2020, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., to be hosted by the Archdiocese of Lipa.

We will be using zoom platform for these activities and will be cross-posted live at the Facebook Pages of the CBCP News, Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas, Diocese of Pasig, Diocese of Cebu and Lipa. For those who would like to join in the Zoom Rooms of these events, may we request to kindly register by sending an email to: laiko_phils@yahoo.com.ph on or before September 17, 2020.  Kindly indicate the event/s that you would like to participate. Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

While we request you to join us in these activities, we encourage you, in coordination with your Bishops, Priests & superiors to organize Laity Week related activities in your respective Arch/Dioceses, parishes and communities.

Thank you. Once again, we count on your utmost support and active participation.

Sincerely in the service of the Lord,
