Please Sign On To Support Sr. Patricia Fox, NDS, An Australian Missionary Facing A Deportation Case
We the undersigned publicly call on President Rodrigo Duterte and the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines to rescind its deportation case on Sr. Patricia Fox NDS, to restore her Missionary Visa, and to thank her for her 27 years of kind support to the poor, deprived and oppressed people of the Philippines.
We unreservedly condemn the detention of Sr. Pat on April 16-17, 2018, and the subsequent forfeiture of her missionary visa and deportation case of April 25, as an arbitrary act of repression against her and against all foreigners who have committed to assist and support the Filipino people in their struggles against to a poverty-stricken, exploited and violent society.
We are very clear – Sr. Pat has committed no “illegal political activity” in the Philippines, and we applaud her decision to fight to have the deportation case overturned or withdrawn.
She has not violated any provisions of the Philippine immigration law, which he guarantees the civil and political rights of foreigners which is equivalent to that of Philippine nationals. Only a BI Operation Order, with No. SMB 2015-025, issued in 2015 contravenes this constitutional and universal right.
As she has stood alongside the poor farmers, workers and indigenous people these last 27 years, we are proud to stand alongside her now.
You are also invited to a cultural event sponsored by artists to honor Sr. Pat and the sectors she loved and supported for the last 27 years. This will be on May 19, 2018, 4pm to 5:45pm at the Romano Hall in Baclaran Church. Then there will be a mass at 6pm with Bp. Pabillo as the main celebrant.
